In the communities where Harris has a presence, we strive to be a good and caring neighbor by identifying important areas of need and developing coordinated programs to address them. We support a broad spectrum of health, welfare, civic and cultural initiatives, with our main focus on the growing needs of education.
Harris knows firsthand that educating young people in math and science is vital to maintaining our nation's technological advantage. We have an ever-increasing need for highly trained, highly capable technical talent. To motivate and inspire our nation's youth to study math and science and position them for successful careers in technical fields, Harris has established, supported and actively participated in many educational and mentoring programs.
We devote significant funding to these and other programs, but we also recognize that it takes more than just dollars to make a difference in our communities. It also requires active participation from our employees. We're very fortunate to have thousands of employee volunteers who regularly take time out of their busy schedules to provide the human interaction that is essential to the success of our initiatives.
Through the active involvement of our employees, the thoughtful application of funding, and a strategic focus on science and math education, Harris is shaping the difference through community involvement that will create a better tomorrow for us all.
